Junia asked Selene one question.
“Is he still alive?”
Selene didn't know.
They searched.
After several weeks, they found him living in another city.
He was eighty-one.
The Second Chance
When Alistair and Junia finally saw each other, neither knew what to say.
They simply stood there holding hands.
After a long silence, Junia whispered:
“You waited.”
Alistair smiled.
“So did you.”
They never tried to recover the years they had lost.
Instead, they started spending time together again.
They visited the library every Sunday.
